Maximum Energy Professionals “MEP” has been assisting in excess of 4,000 applications (3.5 Billion square feet) since 2001 to disclose the energy performance of their buildings through the EPA ENERGY STAR certification and benchmarking process. We are national experts at the energy performance disclosure process and are available to assist you with CA AB1103 compliance and other energy conservation needs. California™s Assembly Bill (AB) 1103 Energy Benchmarking and Disclosure Law is now in effect as of January 1, 2014, and affects building owners when their entire building is being offered for sale, lease, finance or refinance.
In November of 2007, California passed Assembly Bill 1103 (AB1103), mandating energy benchmarking and disclosure for non-residential buildings. CA AB1103 requires non-residential building owners to input energy consumption and other building data into the EPA’s ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager system, which generates an energy efficiency rating for the building of 1 to 100, 100 being the most energy efficient. If a building reaches a score of 75 or higher, owners can have their ENERGY STAR application certified by a licensed professional engineer and can apply for an ENERGY STAR award decal, which certifies that their building is in the top 25% of other similar buildings nationwide in terms of energy efficiency.
